My heart mourns for my country. Who was once governed by a spirit of righteousness. When government was limited and the different houses of power really did keep each other in check. Now I see that even the republican party really does nothing….perhaps it has good intentions…but do we ever really see those good intentions followed up by good actions? Is our country falling asleep? Have we forgotten our first love?
“Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God. ‘So, remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.” Revelation 3:2-3.
Wake up oh reader.
It starts with your children.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.”
But this is my hope,
“Now it will come about that in the last days the mountain of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains, and will be raised above the hills; and all the nations will stream to it.” Isaiah 2:2.
So amidst all the “tolerance” of the high places this country has….amidst all the weariness and hurt and anger against God….there is hope. There is One who will lead this country to righteousness again, a thief who is coming…who will right the wrong and fully restore all the bad we create. And we will stream to that hope. Jesus is coming. But we must wake up first!
