I received an email from a liberty loving group of people who informed me that Congress is seeking to re-authorize the Patriot Act and add to its destructiveness with giving our already big government even more power to reach into our daily lives. I don’t know about you, but I cherish my privacy. Thinking about that being invaded just makes me cringe. I want to be someone who trusts those in power. I would love to just blindly say that our government always means well and that it is our security they are looking after. However, when that same government begins to see me as a potential hazard (when of course I am far from that) and begins to lump me into that category of “terrorism” (because everyone is a threat) and begins to motivate its actions to protect itself and its own power instead of the rights and liberties of its citizens…it begins to seem like something is going wrong.
So I wrote to my representative. I want to trust that my voice is heard but lately I am beginning to understand that my voice is merely one out of millions and most of those millions of voices are sheep who trust the wolves in sheepskins instead of listening and following the true Shepherd; Christ Jesus. My not so common voice is thus drowned out and most people want to completely ignore or push away individuals who truly see our government for what it is! A government that does not recognize God, a government who wants to indoctrinate our youth that evolution is a fact, not a theory and that God shouldn’t be apart of education (didn’t He write history?), a government who exploits the poor around the globe to further its ever-increasing globalist ideals, a government who makes abortion an OK thing (because its controlling the population right and that is good for the environment..go green living!), a government where morals are becoming gray and that differences between democrats and republicans are becoming increasingly vague . Most of those sheep really mean well…but really…I think those wolves need to be gotten rid of and we all need to open our eyes.
So please, understand that a vote FOR the re-authorization of the Patriot Act is actually NOT a vote for your individual security but a vote against it. If you feel led, please contact your representative and tell them to actually represent you!

Take a moment and dig in to finding out what the Patriot Act is really about. I think you might find yourself slightly appalled, like I was. Email a clear message that a vote for a suspension calendar with the so-called “PATRIOT” Act on it is a vote for roving wiretaps, secret sneak and peek searches conducted without the knowledge of the subject, search and seizure of library records, and so-called “national security letters” signed by anonymous bureaucrats replacing warrants signed by a judge. There is nothing “patriot” about it. It is merely a tool used to con people into thinking that if they oppose such an act then they must certainly not be a patriot. Voting against such a thing makes you unpatriotic and anti american and therefore possibly a terrorist! Don’t you see how they are manipulating our thinking? Using what we hold dear and threatening the foundation of our beliefs so that we won’t oppose them. Such audacity! Do you really think that is so far fetched? I used to think so…but I am beginning to look at our country’s leaders with a lense of clarity that exposes yucky power driven individuals who care little for the common man.
To me that is just too hard to swallow! I think about my children. I think about their futures and what liberties I have today that they will NOT have. Giving up liberties that thousands upon thousands have fought and died for just for the name of so-called security should never be made right. Ultimately, because I believe in God’s sovereignty and that even a nation’s security is in His hands, I think giving up these liberties is a bad thing. If you look at history you will discover that once the government is given more power it never really gives it back again…again…is that right? Do you want a big government? What about for your children? Don’t be scared! Contact your Representative!
